From its modest start in 1953, The Bamboo Bar has evolved into a celebrated Bangkok institution, drawing jazz enthusiasts from around the world. This iconic spot, Bangkok's first jazz venue, retains its sensual 1950s ambience.

The Mandarin Oriental's acclaimed mixologist team masterfully crafts drinks and cocktails, notably the recently-introduced The Evolution menu. Inspired by the natural progression of bamboo and featuring local ingredients, The Evolution menu embodies The Bamboo Bar's ethos: a legendary jazz establishment perpetually adapting and evolving with the times. Also available is an extensive list of classic cocktails to fuel the evening.

Dress Code Policy: After 6:30pm, guests are kindly asked to wear elegant attire and proper footwear, while gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers and closed shoes.

As Thailand's first jazz bar, established in 1953, The Bamboo Bar is marking its 70th year as Bangkok's premier destination for jazz music and crafted cocktails.

To honour this significant milestone, we're collaborating with some of the world's most distinguished bars for an exclusive set of Guest Shifts. These special guest shifts will feature master mixologists who will transport you through the ages, skillfully crafting cocktails that embody each decade from the 1950s right up to the 2010s.

At The Bamboo Bar, under the vigilant care of our Bar Manager Chanel Adams, your glass is never left wanting. With a rich history in mixology and spirits, Chanel infuses her distinct passion and expertise into every drink, ensuring a memorable experience whether it's your first visit or your hundredth. After arriving in Bangkok, she quickly developed a deep appreciation for Thai fruits and their singular flavours. Understanding how these flavours evolve over time and with varying techniques, she crafted The Evolution cocktail menu. Local ingredients like Thai mango, banana, and lemongrass are just a few of the standouts used in these custom cocktails.
